A high profile Federal Government agency is seeking multiple experienced Senior Network Engineers to assist with specialist technical engineering services for the design, testing and high level sustainment of Router/switch networks, gateway infrastructure, network management systems and specialised encryption devices in Canberra. This is to be an initial 12 month contract with the view to be extended for a further 12 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Providing specialist services for the design, testing and sustainment of Router/switch network and assisting with hardware and software configuration within the encrypted Router and switch network;
- Ensuing that the critical Internet infrastructure is maintained according to the standard operating procedure;
- Implementing changes to departmental network environment strictly in accordance with departmental change control procedures;
- Maintaining data and office security and system integrity in accordance with Departmental Security Instructions.
To be considered for this role you will need to have the following:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the network design and management of multiple vendor networking product suites to a complexity found within a large government agency network operating environment;
- Expert level analytical and diagnostic skill and ability to coordinate/direct the efforts of multiple parties in the resolution of fault in the WAN/LAN environment;
- Proven knowledge of IT security requirements and regulations and its application across the network;
- Proven knowledge and proven ability in Routing and Switching protocol, QOS principles, protocols and standard, MPLS principles, protocols and standards, WAN acceleration technologies VOIP and video conferencing protocols and standard and commercial encryption equipment and standards.
- Proven knowledge of Network management including Vmware, Unix/Solar and Scripting language and Standard Network Operating Environment.
