We currently have an immediate requirement for a MySQL DBA in Arlington/Harrisonburg,VA. This is a CONTRACT TO HIRE/PERMANENT position. Though the position is based out of Virginia, but you can work from home 100% of the time.

Responsibilities include:
  • Work with Systems and Development teams to design, implement, maintain, scale and tune MySQL
  • You will provide significant input to the strategic direction, daily operations, best practices, security policies, and implementation procedures relating to our large scale data infrastructure


    • Skills required include:
  • Strong experience working with MySQL
  • Experience with large scale data mining
  • In-depth experience with Linux
  • In-depth, hands-on experience administrating open source databases like MongoDB/Postgres/NOSQL
  • Understanding of Hadoop and Cassandra
  • Strong understanding of data architecture
  • Extensive experience in large scale environments
  • Extensive experience with highly available critical services
  • Some enterprise knowledge of network and storage systems
  • NO ORACLE DBA
