is recruiting contract Optical, DWDM & IP Configuration Network Engineers with good experience of TX, Transmission, Ciena, Alcatel - Lucent, ADVA, & Nokia platforms for major enterprise customer network deployments across the Core & Aggregation networks. These roles will be remote, home based, working on behalf of a Global IT, Technology & Telecom service provider.

This is a 12 month rolling contract assignment with ownership for the configuration, integration, management & delivery Optical, SDH, DWDM, Fibre WAN network solutions.

If you possess experience of core Optical, Fibre, TX, Transmission, SDH, networks with exposure to Ciena, Alcatel - Lucent, ADVA, Nokia, Juniper or Cisco vendor equipment, I'm keen to hear from you.

Position: Network Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Deployment Engineer, Configuration Engineer

Purpose: Provide network support and network implementation services for major customers to ensure Core & Aggregation network changes are accurately deployed across the networks.

Location: Home based, remote working, work from home

Nature:Temporary contract for services

Duration: 12+ month contract

Hours: Monday - Friday

Gross pay rate: Inside IR35. Employment taxes and other appropriate taxes & deductions will be made from the gross pay quoted.

Security Clearance: SC or BPSS level clearance (or eligibility for clearance) is essential for this role and as such perspective candidates must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years consecutively.

Overview:

The Optical & IP Configuration Network Engineers will be responsible for the delivery, implementation & documentation of new customer orders across the Optical, IP & Date Network.

You will ensure the technical specification & designs provided for the UK Optical, IP & Data networks are correctly configured on the live networks and that all Core & Aggregation changes are implemented to the agreed procedures, processes & standards.

You will take ownership of a wide range of requests and projects. Tasks will include customer ceases, technical migration, configuration & delivery of customer data solutions across the global WAN IP, Optical & Data networks.

Responsibilities:

You will work in the Network Implementation/Deployment/Provisioning/Migration department, which is accountable for the remote configuration of IP & Optical networks including DWDM and protocols including OSPF and BGP on customer solutions over the network.

You can expect to be involved with:

*Provisioning, enablement & activations of products within the Global Provide delivery chain

*Plan technical deployments with project teams to design & implement network services

*Identify best network solution for specific customer requirements

*Implement new WAN products into live network environment

*Coordinate implementation activity

*Configuration of Cisco, Ciena, Juniper, Nokia & DWDM equipment

*Implement, deploy & provision managed WAN, IP, VPN & MPLS solutions

*Deploy bespoke solutions for customer requirements

*Implement Layer 2 & Layer 3 MPLS services on multi-vendor equipment

*Deliver customer solutions as per design/order requirement

*Manage delivery of routing & switching requirements; IP, VPN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF etc.

*Implementation & maintenance routing & switching equipment

*Liaise with external suppliers to coordinate service delivery & order management activity

Candidate Profile:

We will consider Network Engineers from a variety of backgrounds from IP support to implementation and configuration. Initial and ongoing system and network training will be provided to all new starters.

It will be helpful if your background consists of being an engineer with Cisco IP config & provisioning deployment and experience within a network implementation or support role for a major IT Provider, Corporate, System Integrator, Service Provider, Technology, Telecom, Carrier, Internet, ISP, hosting or other similar organisation.

It is essential for the successful individual to currently hold OR be eligible to pass BPSS (Basic Check) and SC level security clearance checks. As such candidates must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years consecutively.

Your experience is likely to include some of the following:

*Optical expertise ideally to include Ciena, DWDM, PPC6 is the main skills we are looking for

*Experience with any of the following IP vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia, Ciena

*Experience with Routing Protocols (BGP, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF,ISIS)

*Experience working on an MPLS network

*Experience in testing L2/L3 devices (PE Routers), CPEs

*Deep Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Layer Protocol suites.
