Our client is the industry leader in computer components seeking a Tech to work in the Network Quality Lab. This lab is responsible for testing network software and hardware that forms part the client's line of networking connections. The results of these tests are used to improve products, retool if necessary, and quantify market-readiness of network connection designs.

OVERVIEW:

  • Process new LAN on Motherboard, Network Adapter and switch designs that arrive in the lab for testing
  • Conduct network stress, black-box software testing and human interface evaluation
  • Save results to a database.
  • Work on-site, no travel expected

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a production network environment on a support line for networking products such as Network Adapters, Cable Modems, DSL or Dial-up service, or equivalent training in Network Engineering Support, Computer Information Systems or Computer Software Engineering Technology
  • Understanding of TCP/IP
  • Layer 2 networking knowledge
  • Demonstrable and practical Scripting or programming experience
  • Network Routing and Switching background
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuitry and board logic.
  • Some experience loading drivers and hardware for various OS (not just Microsoft)
  • Timeliness, positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective written communication skills, near-collegiate level or better
