The Essence of this Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Software Integration Engineer to manage multiple assemblies of trial Combat Management Systems our client.
The role is hybrid with a requirement to be onsite in Portsmouth once a week, maybe twice on occasion.
Responsibilities
- Develop data processing pipes, fusion networks and brokering systems to serve situation awareness' to military commanders.
- Define systems and data pipelines to meet business requirements
- Integrate both project and 3rd party applications into a container orchestrator such as Kubernetes
- Review source code from 3rd parties in a variety of languages including python, Java and C.
- Build containerizing scripts and configure delivery pipelines
- Manage multiple and varied delivery pipeline configurations and manifests
- Evaluate trial combat management systems and components
- Document and explain processes and design decisions.
- Solve technical problems across multiple technologies, developing new methods if required
- Own and manage knowledge sharing within the company and across related communities.
Experience
- Working knowledge of Docker and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes
- Expert in the principles behind software integration and common problems
- Good knowledge of quality standards, legislation and best practice
- strong written and verbal English, able to present complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proven skills in a Scripting language (eg python, Perl, JavaScript, bash)
- Used to Linux command line and a working understanding of the Linux operating system
