Part-Time Quality Technician job #2674 -- Akron/Canton, Ohio

Local Canton area company is seeking a Part-Time Quality Technician to be responsible for the implementation of tools and programs to improve quality, verify quality and reduce scrap for the manufacturing process. This is a Part-Time Temporary to Permanent position with a 20 hour work week.

Responsibilities:

• Inspection Processes -- understands and follows industry standard and QC procedures. Applies to everyday inspection / QC related activities.
• Gage Calibration -- Identifies and uses only calibrated gages for qualification of product. Isolates any defective or "out-of-cal' gages.
• Receiving Inspection -- Processes incoming parts per the receiving inspection standards. Determines required inspection program path per established procedures.
• Office Administration -- Maintains an organized work environment with regard to priorities and record maintenance.
• Communication -- Advises and consults with engineering, production and management staff members regarding test results and best practices.

Required Skillset:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of Quality Control related experience as applied to mechanical / industrial products.
• Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and understand blueprints.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T)
• Capable of using calibrated gauging equipment (height gages, gage blocks, micrometers, calipers, bore cages, treaded rings, hardness testers, etc.)
• Operation of CMM using preloaded programs.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of business software
• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
• Attention to detail

Desired Skillset:

• Machinist Background and familiar with tolerances.
• Programming CMM.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Lotus Notes.
