Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing new Public Sector pension scheme regulations must have experience of drafting regulations, specification of scheme rules and calculations.
- Working with legal partners, policy team and scheme administrators.
- Develop scheme communications and consult on reforms. Understanding of pension scheme governance and pension boards.
- Investigation of the current position on pensions in the deregulated bus market including through discussion with local authority and bus operator pension experts
- Identification of the policy option(s) available
- Detailed development of the policy approach decided upon by Ministers, including instructions to lawyers for secondary or Public Sector pension scheme regulation primary legislation on both pensions and TUPE.
- Ad hoc support to the team as the Bill proceeds through Parliament, scoped on a fortnightly basis.
Essential Experience:
- Experience of staff transfer issues
- Experience of the detailed workings of the Local Government Pension Scheme
- Experience of drafting regulations, specifications of scheme rules and calculations
- Project Management experience
