Our Public Sector Government based client is looking to recruit a Python Software Developer on a 6 month contract.
You will join a team to advance the development of Fab such that it can be used to compile our flagship supercomputer applications such as the Unified Model and LFRic. This will ensure the robustness and efficiency of a key step in deploying the software onto a range of supercomputers for operational weather forecasting and cutting edge weather and climate research.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Design and Development skills
- Python Development
- Linux and git/github
- Experience with compiled programming languages, eg Fortran, C, C++
- Working within a defined quality-focused development cycle
Past experience of scientific software or systems would be highly desirable as would DSL's (PSyClone) but this is not essential.
At present the role is remote based but may need occasional attendance at the office in the future.
Preference will also be given to candidates who hold SC Security Clearance however those eligible to apply will be considered. You will need to obtain BPSS Clearance prior to starting which takes 2-4 weeks and also have submitted a SC Clearance Application.
Day Rate: £492.73 per day INSIDE IR35 via a umbrella company.
