Description

RF Consultant - Gloucestershire - Contract 12months - £524 per day Inside IR35 - DV Cleared

The Key Responsibilities of a RF Consultant:

Technical teams are each responsible for a particular set of technology functions that contribute to the wider sector. Each team is small and semi-autonomous, jointly directed by a technical consultant and a project manager. Within their areas, teams look to provide technology pull-through and integration. Due to the focus on integration, teams rarely work in isolation, so TCs are expected to be able to support other teams as well as managing their own workflows. Integration work is most effective when all involved can fully contribute, so TCs are expected to lead from the front in fostering an inclusive culture that allows everyone to deliver their best.

  • Interact with customers to extrapolate user needs into detailed technical requirements.
  • Design systems to meet user needs and produce appropriate documentation, including bills of materials.
  • Ensure systems are designed to operate within security, legal and policy standards.
  • Provide technical advice on component fabrication and assembly, getting 'hands on' where necessary.
  • Provide leadership to a small team of technical specialists in a project environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to operations personnel.
  • Provide technical support to trials, training and exercises, including trial design and results assessment.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure that the equipment delivered meets the technical requirements.

  • Subject matter expertise in 3 or more of the following technology areas: Wifi, GSM, DMR, Satcoms, Software Defined Radio design, RF antennae design. Strong working knowledge of other listed technology areas.

  • Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
  • CEng or equivalent is desirable.
