Work for a fantastic Local Government organisation as a Risk and Insurance Manager (locum)
As the Risk and Insurance Manager you will help implement the strategy on risk and insurance. You'll have flexibility with it being a hybrid role and will join an excellent organisation with a supportive and vibrant work culture.
About the role
As the Risk and Insurance Manager, day to day you will be tasked with achieving tight budgetary control and prioritise use of resources and assets. You will achieve strong price competition and transfer of risks through contracts as well as identifying and helping to develop commercial opportunities where you see fit.
Specific responsibilities include leading on the procurement of the Council's insurance programme, ensuring compliance with the Insurance Act 2015; and leading the Council's insurance claims handling arrangements.
What we look for
- Ideally public sector experience, although private sector will be considered for the suitable candidate
- Experience within Risk & Insurance
- Qualification of Institute of Risk Management (IRM), Chartered Institute of Insurers (CII), or similar
- An understanding of the workings of local government
- Claims experience
What we offer
- Daily rate £500 - £600 via an umbrella company
- Option of temporary (3 months) to permanent contract
- Start date ASAP
- Flexible working arrangements: 3 days a week on-site, 2 days remote. Flexible on-site days
