Our Client is looking for a Duty Holder Snr Health and Safety Advisor for immediate start based in Aberdeen for a long term ongoing role in either a Contract or Staff basis.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a focus of Health and Safety advice, support to all operational and support departments. Occupational health and safety professional with an appreciation of process safety drivers would be advantageous.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide Health and Safety advice regarding all aspects of operation of asset, including production operations, maintenance, drilling, wells services and pipeline operations.
  • Ensure compliance to Health and Safety legislation, policies, guidance and best practice is the basis of all advice through a proactive and supportive approach
  • Maintain awareness of and involvement with operational, engineering and maintenance activities associated with Duty Holder Responsibilities
  • Closely interface with Offshore HSE advisors to provide continuity and consistency of advice and support
  • Interface with well operation and pipeline operator regarding drilling and well services activities
  • Support the asset HSE manager regarding communication and interface with the Health and Safety Executive.
  • Interface with the Technical Safety TA regarding the Safety Case, ORA, deviation and management of major accident hazards
  • Proactively interface with the engineering and construction service provider, ensuring Duty Holder expectations are communicated in a positive manner.
  • Assist in building a culture of personal accountability where safe behaviors are reinforced and at risk behaviors are challenged
  • Participate as required in HAZIDS, HIRAs and HAZOPS
  • Track health and safety performance and generate statistical analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. Provide input into monthly reports
  • Participate in accident and incident investigation providing teams with expertise in investigation techniques root cause analysis and development of preventative measures
  • Assist in building a culture of personal accountability where safe behaviors are reinforced and at risk behaviors are challenged
  • Coach and counsel onshore operations and engineering teams to develop a culture of hazard identification and development of safe methods and systems
  • Support offshore HSE advisors in developing a strong safety representation system and an ongoing safety awareness program
  • Maintain understanding and knowledge of current best practice in the Oil and Gas and similar industries.
  • Maintain Health and Safety skills keeping abreast of current thinking and methods
  • Undertake offshore visits as required
