Proteus Europe is searching for a Sales and Procurement Specialist for one of our clients based in Berkshire.

Your New role :-

As a Procurement Specialist your role is to support the Procurement Manager and Sales team. As a key member of this team you will be evaluating supplier capabilities in order to meet and maintain business needs, and to Maintain both Customer and Supplier relationships on a day to day basis will be a critical part of the role.

As a key conduit, you will liaise internally and externally in key stages of current and new product/business development, and will include working with customers, and internal project/ supply teams, as well as assisting the Procurement Manager in reviewing material specifications and diagrams. You will also ensure clarity around capability and capacity, whilst assisting in the selection of key and best in class, supply decisions and ultimately create and maintain a competitive cost base within the business.

- Strategic management of critical business relationships related to the procurement of raw materials and/or product technologies.
- Participate in the review of material specifications, drawings, and inspection procedures with the project teams, supply chain team, and suppliers to drive best choice supply decisions.
- The ability to build a functional network with a variety of disciplines including Customer project team, engineering, procurement, technology, quality, marketing, business leadership and legal.

Support the Procurement Manager with any business requirements as detailed below:-
- Maintain all Procurement requirements covering RFI/RFP/RFQ
- Clarify scope of work (SOW) for suppliers.
- Assist the Procurement Manager with the delivery of contractual documents.

Supporting the UK sales team;

- Assist in preparing the monthly business valuation.
- Requesting and chasing POs from the customer.
- Raising of invoices on electronic system for suppliers
- Chasing suppliers for invoices, checking invoices against POs raised and processing invoices for payment
- Preparing cost schedules
- Preparation of Purchase Orders for suppliers

Your Skills and experience :-

Essential Skills :-
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong time management skills
- Competent in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Presentation, communication and planning skills
- Proactive self-starter
- Ability to communicate well at all levels and with colleagues where English is not their first language
- Ability to write accurate high level reports - paying particular attention to numeracy
- Strong attention to detail
- Team player

Desirable Skills :-
- Knowledge of ERP systems - preferably SAP
