My client, a leading tier 1 bank, is looking for a SAS Programmer to join their team in Bristol. They are offering up to £500/day on a 6 month rolling contract with a long term view.Role: SAS Programmer
Rate: Up to £500/day
Durations: 6 month rolling
Location: Bristol
Key responsibilities:
Review, interpret and enhance existing complex policy data and financial reporting related processes, ETL to meet business requirements.
The role holder's activities will include:
(a) gathering functional and non-functional requirements of the data related processes within scope, producing functional and technical specs, inputting into the Testing Strategy and contribute to test matrix, defect management where appropriate.
(b) forging and maintain strong working relationships with IT and the Business, liaising with stakeholders (e.g. wider MI team, SMEs in appropriate Business areas, Change Management, IT, EAD etc) at all stages of the project lifecycle
Essential / Desirable skills:
- Ability to manipulate complex data using current data processing software products and to accurately disseminate complex business requests.
- Advanced SQL & SAS programming skills with experience in SAS 9.x & Oracle databases. Ideally with experience of Business Objects XI3/4 programming.
- Good knowledge of MI technical, infrastructure and warehouse concepts.
- Advanced problem solving skills.
- Desirable to have previously worked in Insurance Finance related functions with experience in working with the types of actuarial and finance data used to produce regulatory and statutory reports and accounts.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook, MS Project. Enterprise Guide, VB, VBA & XML Skills
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Effective management of own time and prioritisation of own workload within a pressurised environment.
** Previous banking / financial experience is essential **
