Description

Technical Architect

Remote/London

SC Clearance Required

As the technical architect, you'll provide technical leadership and architectural design. You will break down large system requirements into manageable parts. You will explain the structure to designers and developers, and help them build it. You'll ensure systems meet quality and security standards and keep accurate records of steps and decisions taken.

You'll be responsible for defining the overall structure of a program or system. You'll act as project manager, overseeing IT assignments that are aimed at improving the organisation, and ensuring all parts of the project run smoothly.

  • AWS and Azure, windows hosting on-prem and between clouds, a degree of third-party networks integration is also required.
  • Commercials and licensing integration to ensure platforms are selected and operated with an awareness of cost.
  • Frameworks used for shared understanding for design and architecture methodologies ie TOGAF 9 +, NCOSE or MoDAF.
  • You can translate technical concepts relating to software engineering, delivery management and service management so they are understood by all.
  • Have experience leading technical teams and delivering user-focused services in a large organisation.
  • You can understand technical governance and participate in or deliver the assurance of a service.
  • You must have the ability to understand and resolve technical disputes across varying levels of complexity and risk.
  • You can produce a strategy for technology that meets business needs. You can create, refine and challenge patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements.
  • You can work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.
  • You can look beyond the immediate technical problem and identify the wider implications.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to liaise with stakeholders/customers and interpret business requirements into technical ones.
  • You will have excellent problem solving, research and analytical skills.
  • You will have excellent communication, leadership, influencing and negotiation skills with ability to lead technical customer workshops and pre-sales technical meetings.
  • You will have experience selecting successful technologies and establishing technical roadmaps
  • Experience of project management methods like PRINCE2 will be helpful along with a working knowledge of project development and information management practices like Agile and ITIL.
