Description
We're hiring a full stack web engineer with expertise in web frameworks like Django or Ruby on Rails and experience developing modern JavaScript front-end applications using React or Ember. The ideal candidate is someone who wants to make an immediate impact developing a product which reaches thousands of patients a month (and growing). We're a small, solid team with no weak links, and you'll have a role in the decision making for the product, architecture, and development process.Responsibilities
Our platform is a service based stack of several applications. You'll be developing REST API services in a variety of languages and frameworks. You will not need to know the ins-and-outs of each framework initially, but we expect you to be productive quickly given a narrow, well defined scope. Over time, we expect you to be heavily involved in the planning process and make meaningful contributions to the design of our architecture.
Many of our projects involve developing JavaScript UI applications using cutting edge technologies such as React and GraphQL. You will eventually be expected to translate mockups and wireframes into functional web interfaces using modular JavaScript components.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of at least one web application framework like Django or Ruby on Rails
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs
- Experience with git for version control
- Good understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with JavaScript UI tools and frameworks like React or Ember
- Quick aptitude for learning new technology and best practices
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability
- Be comfortable with iterative and incremental development
- Be willing to help, teach, and learn from your teammates
- Be open to receiving feedback
Pluses
- Experience with ElasticSearch
- Experience with event driven application communication using Kafka
- Experience with front-end compliation toolchains like Gulp and Webpack
- Familiarity with Nginx
- Familiarity with mobile application development
- Experience with CSS and Sass for pre-processing with CSS and Sass for pre-processing
