Description

For one of our international clients in the automotive industry, we are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to support a strategic Customer Data Management initiative as an independent contractor.
We welcome applications from individual freelancers and independent consultants based in Croatia. This engagement is for a single senior engineer — we are not looking for team or multi-resource offers at this stage.

About the Project
You will support our client's Customer Data Management initiative, contributing to a modern cloud-native integration platform built around Salesforce.
The project follows an outside-Salesforce architecture, meaning all business logic and integrations are implemented as scalable AWS microservices rather than inside Salesforce itself.
Your deliverables will contribute to a 360° Customer Profile, enabling customer journeys, marketing automation and seamless data synchronization across multiple enterprise systems.

Scope of Work / Deliverables
  1. Design, develop and deliver cloud-native microservices on AWS
  2. Build API-first services to integrate Salesforce with external enterprise systems
  3. Implement integrations using REST APIs, middleware and ETL technologies
  4. Set up and deliver CI/CD pipelines
  5. Develop resilient, scalable cloud applications
  6. Analyze and resolve integration and performance issues
  7. Ensure security, GDPR compliance and data governance standards within delivered work packages
  8. Provide technical documentation for delivered components
  9. Coordinate agreed work packages with Product Owners and Business Analysts
Required Skills
  1. 5+ years of backend software development experience
  2. Strong experience with Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Node.js or Python
  3. Solid experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS
  4. Hands-on experience with Microservice architectures
  5. Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and system integrations
  6. CI/CD knowledge (CodeBuild, CodePipeline, GitLab CI or similar)
  7. Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK or Terraform)
  8. Good understanding of software security and secure coding practices
  9. Fluent English (project language)
Nice to Have
  1. Experience integrating Salesforce platforms
  2. Customer Data Management / CRM / Customer 360 experience
  3. ETL or middleware technologies
  4. Automotive or enterprise project experience
  5. Lead Developer or Solution Architecture background
  6. Open Source contributions or GitHub profile
