Description
The role encompasses the development and support of new and existing Drupal systems and applications. Specifically:
1) Development, support and design of new and existing systems
2) Quality control and systems testing
3) Mentoring technical support within the development team
4) Keeping up to date with technologies (eg PHP, MySQL, Drupal, CMS, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Linux and Apache)

The successful applicant will be responsible for the agile development of modular, open-source and communal software components as part of an international team of software developers. The work will include design and implementation of web applications, web services, data schemas and databases, and other applications and services.

Responsibilities
Task & responsibilities

• Iterative design, development and support Drupal modules
• Software quality assurance
• Multisite Drupal site configuration
• Basic server administration
• Mentoring and support of other developers
• Participate is setting organizational Web development strategy.
• Develop and communicate Web site usage and security policies and standards to all users.
• Define Web site architecture and overall site structure.
• Establish policies and procedures for publishing Web pages and applications in conjunction with content creators.

Acquisition & Deployment

• Conduct research into current and emerging Web technologies and issues in support of Web development efforts.
• Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 6/7 years equivalent work experience.

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous demonstrable experience of programming Drupal modules. Applicants will need to provide evidence of their prior work.
• Previous demonstrable commercial experience building Drupal websites. Applicants will need to provide evidence of their prior work.
• Technical Lead/Senior Developer level experience.
• Extensive knowledge and use of PHP, MySQL, Drupal, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, Javascript and Jquery.
• Practical experience of Linux server administration
• Knowledge of GIT.
• Knowledge of unit testing.
• Expert level hands on experience of configuring Views, CCK and other contributed modules
• Pixel perfect Drupal 6 theming and CSS is highly desirable
• Experience with computer graphic and multimedia design.
• Comprehensive experience with structuring, developing, and implementing interactive corporate Web sites.
• Proven experience in installing, upgrading, and maintaining Web Servers and associated operating systems, including LAMP, SSH, command line instructions, encryption methods and payment gateways beneficial.
• Knowledge of database development, including SQL Server and MySQL.
• Experience in gathering and analysing business requirements.
• Project management experience, part of team.
• Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
• Writing comprehensive documentation.
