Senior Engineer - Fire Protection Engineer - Ship Building
A Senior Engineer with Fire Protection experience is required to work on a six-month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Glasgow.
This is a 6-month contract with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Senior Engineer - Fire Protection Engineer contract role
- To assist with the development of the Type 26 Fire Protection Network, providing design input to the subcontractor and assurance that their architecture and detailed design are fit for purpose.
- Development and review of cause and effect logic to be implemented within FPN software
- Work closely with the supplier to ensure that the FPN design is robust and will fulfil the contractual requirements. Reviewing supplier documentation.
- Provide information to the supplier to respond to technical queries in support of their development programme.
- Working with Supply Chain to produce Statements of Work and Change Requests to support the ongoing development of the FPN solution
- Work collaboratively with the Platform Management System team to ensure the interface between the PMS and FPN is defined, managed, and fit-for-purpose
- Attendance at supplier design reviews and acceptance tests
Key skills required for the Senior Engineer - Fire Protection Engineer
This role again requires a Degree qualified Engineer with experience in the Systems Engineering of hardware and software systems, utilising PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Networks. Ability to provide definition of control system logic and cause and effect diagrams, Sound understanding of firefighting systems/fire protection and detection systems
- Experience in the Systems Engineering of hardware and software systems
- Experience in designing systems utilising PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Networks.
- Control systems experience
- Definition of control system logic and cause and effect diagrams
- Understanding of firefighting systems/fire protection and detection systems
