Senior Environment and Release Engineer

Location: Headquarters in Southampton but ability to work remotely from within the UK

Duration of post if applicable: 6 months initial

IR35 Status: In scope

Detailed services to be provided (specifically, the deliverables and if appropriate, specification):

We have an exciting contract opportunity available for a highly-motivated Senior Environment and Release Engineer to join us. This is a technical and analytical hands-on role where you will be working across a delivery function made up of multiple workstreams, delivering on our organisation's biggest strategic programme to date.

Your responsibilities will include:

Taking ownership of the test environments, ensuring they are fit for purpose and have the latest codebase for testing
Standing up new environments as required
Taking ownership of testing release processes, investigating and implementing process improvements where necessary
Performing data analysis (variations of data, how much data) to drive maximum test coverage
Implementing any data security requirements as required
Co-ordinating and leading the release activities for go-live

The work can be done remotely from within the UK but there may be some occasional travel to our HQ in Southampton.

Experience:

5+ years working in environment/release management
Preferably 5+ years experience in a data management role
Experience in setting up and maintaining test environments
Experience of data profiling
Experience in producing checklists and run books
Experience in using and implementing a data management tool
Experience in data masking and data security
Experience in using deployment tools
Working in an Agile team

Behaviours:

Self-starter: ability to allocate and prioritise own work when working on multiple tasks
Willing to advise/implement process improvements and best practices
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Technologies:

Experience of working with Azure DevOps is essential
Experience of working with environments in cloud platforms is essential, preferably Azure
Experience of using data technologies
Awareness of geospatial systems and technologies is desirable
