Description
One of the largest asset managers in the world is building its Financial Reporting group with the addition of at least one Senior Financial Reporting Specialists.The position will primarily be responsible for mutual fund and private/hedge fund financial statements. Big Four experience or a CPA is preferred, and relevant buy-side experience is welcome.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate review of annual and semiannual financial statements, and quarterly schedule of portfolio holdings for registered funds, hedge funds (onshore and offshore) and foreign domiciled funds.
- Work closely with the lead public and private fund financial reporting managers on note disclosures, engagement letters, and management representation letters.
- Interface with the funds' auditors to resolve issues including accounting positions taken and valuation matters.
- Assist with research and documentation of accounting or disclosure matters to develop technically supportable, yet implementable, positions.
- Work closely with fund administrators to ensure funds' accounting positions and policies are properly executed and presented in the accounting records.
Qualifications:
- BA with at least 4 years relevant experience.
- Big Four audit experience and CPA highly preferred.
- Team player; strong management skills.
- Use of professional skepticism when appropriate.
- Very strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
