A leading media firm are looking to take on an experienced finance professional to take on reporting and FP&A processes for their online subscription business whilst the company undergoes significant change

Requirements

  • Review business performance (monthly reviews) and be able to summarise key trends and issues for consolidated group reporting
  • Review business unit forecast assumptions, be able to challenge and summarise key trends and issues for consolidated group forecasts
  • Review functional activity costs and performance against continuous improvement targets.
  • Prepare slides for group presentations (monthly reports, quarterly reforecast and ad hoc requests)
  • Review business cases for new investments or acquisitions (see also projects)
  • Financial modelling - support business units with financial modelling for investment decisions and other areas 
    Oversight of compliance and controls activities and reporting
  • Preparation of ad hoc analysis for group reporting (eg cash forecasts, risk and opportunity analysis)
  • Support senior executives in business decisions (CEO, HR, Strategy/Bus Dev and others)
  • Support the finance team with any changes in group reporting requirements and the implementation of such changes to business units.
  • Projects - support the finance team in following areas

Finance Transformation project - various work streams underway including

  • Preparation for common global finance processes and systems
  • Document existing processes and identify key gaps and changes needed to get to common best practice processes 
    Development of detailed plans for implementation of centre of excellence for FP&A
  • Development of detailed plans for implementation of shared service centre for transactional finance activities. 
    Development of detailed plans for implementation of global finance systems
  • Investment decisions, M&A activities - provide finance support as required
  • Continuous improvements - support the central finance team and wider group to develop process improvements and efficiencies.

Experience

  • Global business environment
  • Direct engagement with senior business leaders and demonstrable ability to challenge decisions and assumptions 
    Able to work on a standalone basis (preparing work in excel, Powerpoint etc, use of financial systems given training as required (HFM)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change
  • Communication skills
