This is an opportunity to help shape the next generation of Kubernetes-based managed services and SaaS platforms, building software that automates complex operational workflows and improves how enterprise services are deployed, managed, and scaled globally.
You'll work alongside experienced platform engineers, architects, SREs, and security specialists while playing a key role in designing and building production-grade automation using Go and Kubernetes.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Golang Developer to join a high-performing Platform Engineering team responsible for developing Kubernetes-native software and automation solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, building Kubernetes Operators and controllers, and creating scalable platform tooling that improves reliability, operational efficiency, and service delivery across cloud and on-premises environments.
You will take ownership of software design, development, testing, and continuous improvement while helping drive engineering best practices and mentoring other team members.
What You'll Be Doing- Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes Operators and controllers using Go.
- Build automation for provisioning, configuration, upgrades, scaling, recovery, and life cycle management of enterprise platforms.
- Develop Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), reconciliation loops, admission webhooks, and controller-runtime components.
- Create reliable, secure, and highly observable platform software using Kubernetes-native development patterns.
- Design and maintain internal APIs that simplify platform operations and service management.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineers, SREs, Architects, and Cloud Operations teams to deliver resilient cloud-native solutions.
- Support GitOps practices using technologies such as Argo CD, Flux, Terraform, and Helm.
- Drive improvements around reliability, performance, operational excellence, and automation.
- Contribute to technical design reviews, engineering standards, and software quality initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and share knowledge across the wider engineering community.
- 8+ years' Experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related disciplines.
- Strong commercial Experience developing software in Go (Golang).
- Hands-on Experience building Kubernetes-native applications, Operators, controllers, or platform automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes APIs, CRDs, RBAC, reconciliation loops, controller-runtime patterns, finalizers, and object life cycle management.
- Experience supporting production Kubernetes environments running critical workloads.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, automation, failure handling, state reconciliation, and observability.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
- Strong Linux, containerisation, networking, and infrastructure troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Kubernetes security and governance best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across engineering teams.

- Reliability Engineering, SLOs, error budgets, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Experience working within highly regulated enterprise or customer-facing environments.
- Opportunity to build large-scale cloud-native platform software used globally.
- Work on modern Kubernetes, automation, and platform engineering initiatives.
- Exposure to complex engineering challenges across enterprise SaaS and managed services environments.
