Description

We are searching for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Zurich based team for a project coming from medical industry!

This opportunity is based in Zurich but candidates from EU countries will be considered if willing to relocate to Zurich.

Responsibilities:

Lead hardware development projects from planning and prototype development to handover to production, with a focus on tracking original surgical instruments and ensuring adherence to project timelines and milestones.
Collaborate closely with software engineering team, product managers, and production to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components, thereby delivering cohesive and robust systems.
Utilize rapid prototyping techniques to define and build concepts encompassing both electronics and mechanics, fostering innovation and efficiency in the development process.
Demonstrate expertise in embedded programming, including proficiency in standard communication protocols, to develop firmware solutions that enhance the functionality and performance of hardware systems.
Leverage PCB design experience, preferably using Altium, to design and optimize printed circuit boards, ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
Utilize CAD modeling proficiency, preferably in SolidWorks, to create detailed designs and simulations of mechanical components, contributing to the overall system architecture and functionality.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited university.
5+ years of experience in product development, with a proven track record of leading hardware projects from conception to production.
Expertise in embedded programming and familiarity with standard communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, etc.
Proficiency in PCB design, preferably using Altium Designer, with a strong emphasis on layout optimization, signal integrity, and design for manufacturability.
Experience with CAD modeling, preferably in SolidWorks, to design mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring compatibility and integration with electronic systems.
Fluency in English (business level) and basic communication skills in German, enabling effective collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and a passion for innovation and excellence in hardware engineering.
