Leading the planning, design, implementation and operation of various major server-based systems, associated database systems, web systems and other computing infrastructure, you'll enjoy a high profile and huge scope. As Senior Infrastructure Consultant, this will involve analysing our requirements, service design, specification, evaluation and hardware and software purchases - as well as promoting services and service management.
As Senior Infrastructure Consultant you will be expected to share in the administration, support and monitoring of our Unix and Linux servers. Responsible for the system development and monitoring of corporate web-based applications, your focus will also be on developing, maintaining and monitoring web application environments. An expert in your technological field, you'll support developers and provide advice and training to other members of our team too.
In this role, you'll need knowledge of Solaris Unix and Linux platforms, combined with experience of installing, configuring, maintaining and shell scripting Unix servers. Good technical knowledge of coding using PERL and SQL, plus experience of Apache administration and preferably CGI and PHP, will be key too. Ideally, you'll also have application support experience of some of the following: Puppet, Nagios, Wordpress, Oracle, Account Management/Directory Service environment, IIS/.Net, Sharepoint, Dynamics, IT Security/penetration testing or continuous integration and automated application deployment.Desired Skills and Experience
