Description
The role will include:
*Produce credit risk policy documents for the approval of the board and the FSA.
*Produce supporting operating procedures seeking input from relevant areas of the organisation.
*Establish a methodology for setting, measuring and stress testing the organisation's credit risk appetite.
*Perform the credit risk due diligence work on any proposed acquisitions and report accordingly on credit quality, carrying out, where necessary, appropriate stress testing.
*Audit and report on the standard of credit assessment, sanctioning and monitoring functions which accompany acquired assets, if necessary, recommending and implementing changes. Or: Recommend detailed credit assessment, sanctioning and monitoring functions to ensure that an appropriate credit risk management framework is in place when banking assets are acquired.
YOU MUST HAVE:
*At least 10 years senior level experience of retail/small business credit assessment.
*High level of technical knowledge of retail credit assessment methodologies, including scorecards.
*Practical experience of stress testing scenarios.
*Detailed knowledge of the marketplace for bespoke credit management systems.
*Experience of working with, and managing relationships with the FSA.
*Able to work within a small team in a dynamic environment, retaining the confidence of colleagues at all times.
