Senior Mechanical Engineer - Shipbuilding

A Senior Mechanical Engineer with Shipbuilding experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Glasgow

This is a 6 month contract working for a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Senior Mechanical Engineer contract role

You will be required to undertake a defined range of engineering activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements, supplying advice and support to operations and other functions and ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements.

Key skills required for the Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Typically Degree qualified (not essential), likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline.
  • Meet the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Body.
  • Experience in engineering or a defence or related industry.
  • Shipbuilding experience would be advantageous but will also consider Oil & Gas.

The role is based in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh.
