Senior Oracle DBA (Oracle Spatial, Oracle10g, Recovery Manager (RMAN), PLSQL and SQL Tuning)
Whitehall Resources have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Oracle DBA to work with our client in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. This is a long term opportunity with an initial contract of 6 months, the role is expected to extend until January 2015.
Languages: Fluent Dutch and English speaking is essential.
Tasks/activities:
Monitor, record, (to) resolve and monitor incidents, problems and changes to the supported systems;
Focus on and work on high availability and continuity of managed applications;
Design, monitor, analyze and improve the technical infrastructure and processes surrounding managed applications;
Assess and analyze risks and impacts of changes in services to existing and new applications;
rotate within various projects on behalf of ISM Management;
Assisting in drafting SLAs and DAPs with customers and suppliers and support in the preparation of (month) reports;
o analyze, evaluate and implement changes (data) components as part of change request;
o perform data conversion to migrations and releases;
o manage authorizations and authorization schemes on behalf of the users of information systems.
Additional:
To support the handling of incidents in the database infrastructure;
To support the implementation of change requests;
Supporting the establishment of management tools;
Requirements:
Certification as an Oracle DBA (10g) or at least 4 years of practical and proven experience with Oracle10g database management systems including Oracle Spatial, Oracle10g Recovery Manager (RMAN), PLSQL and SQL Tuning;
RHLE v 6;
Good knowledge and experience (ITIL) processes;
At least 4 years experience in an enterprise organization;
Extensive practical knowledge and experience (certification is a plus):
o Experience with Oracle migration, upgrade paths;
o Experience with data analysis, data modelling and management of information systems;
o Experience with JBOSS and JBOSS ON
o troubleshooting (such as performance tuning) and migration;
o versioning DTAP (Development, Test, Acceptance and Production) environment;
o knowledge of VMWare ESX (version 2.5 and 3.0), HP Blade architecture, SAN/NAS infrastructure and load balancing;
