Tasks:
To lead on the development and implementation of innovative and effective media plans (internationally, nationally, regionally, locally, broadcast, print, online social etc,) which will deliver positive results, in support of corporate objectives and priorities.

This includes the following:
* To lead and manage the press office
* To deliver effective organisational reputation management
* To implement the media relations programme and to advise SMT, Board and other senior managers as required.
* Ensure delivery of a first class media service.
* To develop strong working relationships with the media, other government press teams and stakeholder and allied organisation's press teams

Work with the press team and relevant members of the communications team to manage media relations. This includes the following:
*Including responding to media enquiries;
*Develop and maintain good working relations with the media,
*Reviewing media coverage
*Writing media releases
*Managing the Out of Hours media handling;
*Providing media briefings to Spokespeople
*Identifying opportunities to maximise our impact and accessibility
