Description
Senior Procurement Manager is required for a contract position in, Leeds Sopra Steria Recruitment working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. Our Government client is looking for a Senior Procurement Manager this will be a contract for Until 31st December 2016 - possibility of extension.
Essential Skills:
- CIPS Level 6 Qualified.
- MBA or MSC in Procurement/Logistics or other higher degree or equivalent experience.
- Significant post qualification experience of managing a wide range of procurements in a public sector environment.
- Experience of managing contractors, other professional and administrative staff and resources to achieve corporate objectives.
- Public and/or private sector management role at a senior level
- Significant experience of procurement planning
- Skilled in managing supplier relationships and negotiating complex contract changes
- Track record of delivering cashable savings
- Experience of leading, supporting and developing teams
- Experience of working in a complex and diverse organisation at a management level
- Experience of presenting to, and working with a range of senior stakeholders and senior management to relay and advise upon complex issues.
Specialist Knowledge:
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- A proven track record of achievement in delivering major projects within budget, and on time.
- Advanced knowledge of procurement strategy, relevant legislation and health care clients and government policies
- Must have knowledge and experience in putting together contracts including terms and conditions and schedules.
- Must have experience of working alongside clients to create effective commercial models and to support the drafting of specifications.
