The Service Delivery Unit (SDU) 'Planning' is one of seven SDU's that together constitutes the Local Service Organization NL (LSO-NL). To handle the increased workload and upcoming projects, we are looking for a candidate who can fulfil the position of 2G RAN Design Engineer, within the RAN Development domain.
The RAN Design Engineer's knowledge and experience will (together with his or her colleagues) form and contribute to the LSO-NL knowledge centre.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Daily capacity management of BSC load;
- Produce High Level & Low Level designs or contribute to cross domain designs
- As a designer, participate in and contribute to RAN Soft- and Hardware upgrade projects (implement and/or verification of new software releases);
- Contribute and deliver feature introductions and parameter changes in the 2G RAN;
- As a designer participate in and contribute to Pilot of Trial projects;
- As a designer, provide support to the roll-out process of SDU Network Deployment;
Candidate Profile
- Master/Bachelor degree (technical/telecommunications)
- Strong experience and understanding of 2G SW Features, their parameters, and the corresponding RAN Optimizations possible on network level
- Preferably several years of work experience with Operators network planning department
- Broad Telecoms, IT and Technology experience
- Broad overview of GSM/UMTS Access, Core and Transport (Transmission, IP) technologies
- Advanced understanding of Wireless Network architecture, Technologies, concepts and standards (eg 3GPP, ITU-T)
- At least 6 years of relevant experience working experience (at least 4 years in branch)
- Independent, but also team player
- Problem solver and coach for other problems solvers
- Responsible, service minded, flexible, talking initiatives
- Good communication skills both in English and preferably Dutch
- Organized and disciplined
- Understand the interest of internal and external customers
