Senior Software Engineer

We are urgently recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to join a leader in the aviation sector on a permanent basis in Manchester

Reporting to the Scrum Master, the Senior Software Engineer will join the New Products Team working on the APEX development. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the product ensuring that designs follow good Object Oriented principles and any code changes fit with the future direction of the core product. In addition you will be focused on process execution in line with company goals. You will also be expected to contribute to the overall software architecture decisions and mentor more junior members of the software development team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all designs are technically sound and follow good Object Oriented principles.
• Ensure that the company prescribed processes and standards are adhered to and contribute to their improvement with a view to increasing team efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership to the team for .NET technologies and provide mentoring and coaching to junior team members in quality software development, testing and deployment.
• Designing and developing solutions
• Designing, coding and unit testing web applications
• The capture of requirements, estimations, functional specifications, test approach and planning
• Delivery of solutions to company standards and time scales
• Involvement with regular release cycles
• Full development life cycle contribution
• Keep up to date with competitor products and latest technologies

Requirements

• Degree level qualification or equivalent in IT or Computer Science related subject
• Minimum of 5 years experience of developing Windows applications using Visual Studio in C#
• Experience of Microsoft SQL Server, including Management Studio and SQL Profiler
• Previous experience of code control processes and systems, such as TFS, SVN
• C# /.NET Framework (up to version 4.5)
