This nationwide industry leader has an immediate contract-to-hire opening in Tempe, AZ for a Sr. SQL Database Developer to join the Database Services Team.  This position requires 5+ years SQL Server Database Development experience and 3+ years experience designing SQL Analysis Services cubes.  In-depth knowledge of MS SQL Server (SQL 2008/R2 versions) is required. Requires extensive experience developing T-SQL code for high volume transactional databases and a proficiency in database query optimization. Requires extensive experience with SSAS, SSIS, and database design.  Experience with Oracle 11g is preferred.

Will be responsible for:

* Defining and validating database-related project deliverables.
* Recommending optimum approaches for project path, utilizing specific area of technical expertise.
* Following best practices, methods, standards and processes.
* Participating in process improvement efforts and other cross-functional teams.
* Creating T-SQL-based code following software development life cycle procedures.
* Designing SSAS cubes and underlying database schemas.
* Designing and developing complex SSIS packages.
* Reviewing database schemas, objects and data scripts written by others and providing feedback.
* Providing support for production systems, including rotational on-call support, when required.
