Our leading blue chip financial services client are looking to add a Senior Lawyer to their Treasury team. This role is driven by the UK Ring fencing of the Bank as the business looks at the structure and operations from a legal entity point of view to ensure that legal requirements are met and that the business remains compliant throughout the delivery of the portfolio.
The business are seeking a qualified lawyer, UK or common law overseas, with experience in treasury and debt capital markets work. A thorough knowledge of the UK and overseas regulations impacting on this area is essential.
The role will involve:
- Act as a source of professional expertise providing legal technical input and strategic advice as a legal advisor to stakeholders
- Build and maintain external and internal network and relationships
- Positively influence the appropriate use of Legal Panel arrangements, in particular the selection, instruction and supervision of panel law firms
- Provide advice and guidance to business areas on Legal Risk Management using the relevant risk management policy framework
- Contribute to reporting and escalation of legal or governance issues within the scope of the Treasury work-stream
- Comfortable challenging and influencing a range of senior stakeholders
- Able to deputise for senior colleagues
- Get involved in the implementation of strategic projects and regulatory requirements
The Business are looking for a candidate from the following background:
- Qualified lawyer, UK or common law overseas
- Experience in treasury and debt capital markets work
- Experience in working with large Financial Services business's
- Knowledge of the UK and overseas regulations
