Project Description:
1: Xen nested virtualization stabilization: The work should improve the stability of current Xen upstream to be able to run nested Xen and KVM stably on top of Intel platform using Intel Virtualization Technology, including supporting popular Linux/Windows distribution as L2 guest and supporting Xen/KVM/VMware/MS Hyper-V as L1 VMM.
2: Xen nested virtualization feature enhancement: The work is to enhance Xen nested virtualization w/Virtual EPT feature. The work should present guest with virtual EPT, so that the guest VMM can take the advantage of EPT, when the physical platform has EPT hardware. The patch set
For 1) & 2), we expect the candidate to not only do internal development, but also work w/Xen community closely to get the patchset accepted into Xen upstream.
Daily Responsibilities:
Expect very little supervision and can work independently.
Necessary Skills (Must Have):
1) C programming skills
2) Linux Kernel development experience
3) Virtualization development experience (eg Xen/KVM)
4) Open source work experience.
