Description

Senior Web Ops required to work in the Government department. This is a 6-month contract, paying £750 a day inside IR35. Remote/Hybrid working (London based office).

Ideally you will be SC Cleared, or eligible for SC Clearance

Main Responsibilities
*You'll be supporting the development of the next generation of the Analytical Platform, which integrates a large number of open source components and runs on a Kubernetes platform.
*You'll own the operation of the modern technologies that makes up the platform, from a simple Django app through to the infrastructure and third-party SaaS services.
*You will manage technical debt appropriately and proportionately
*You will be working regularly with Data Scientists.

Essential Skills and Experience:
*You will have excellent working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform
*Experience of building with cloud services in a production system
*Experience with python and bash Scripting git and familiar with a wide range of managed services and open source components.
*Experience with containers and their orchestration, such as with Docker, Kubernetes or ECS
*Experience of modern development and deployment techniques, including continuous integration and continuous delivery
*Experience defining a solution using configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt
*Experienced in modern DevOps practices and approaches.
*Experience working with data tools and techniques.
*Willingness to lean other programming languages.

Desired Skills and Experience:
*Awareness of how to set up and maintain continuous delivery and deployment pipelines using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar
*An awareness of the use of programming languages such as Javascript, within a production codebase
*An understanding of version control with Git
