Job Purpose:
Working on behalf of our client, a global Oil & Gas company we are looking for two IT Project Managers who will be responsible for managing the rollout of SharePoint/SharePoint projects to the organisation and the teams involved. They will be the liaison between business and IT.
The role comprises a one year contract to start with where the successful candidate will be working on a 28 days on/28 days off rotation configuration at our client's premises in Iraq. Hence, the candidate's willingness to commit to that or relocate within the area.
Accountabilities:
- To develop/manage best practices for project execution and management
- To liaise with IT on future strategy of platform, upgrades etc. and communicate to team
- To identify and resolve conflicts in the team.
- Communicate progress effectively to senior management
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables
- Write business case and obtain approval
- Develop and maintain project plan
- Oversee quality control throughout project life cycle
- Manage resources and deadlines and budget
- Ensure project documentation is completed and stored correctly
- Conduct post mortems, compile lessons learnt and communicate to team
Skills/Qualifications:
- Project management qualification (ITIL, PMP etc.), or equivalent experience
- Understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk and change management
- Proficient in project management software
- Strong leadership and influencer skills
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to see the big picture'
- Work with all levels of staff up to top management
- Good negotiation skills
- Minimum 2 years management of a SharePoint platform in multi-server farm installation
- Minimum 5 years proven project management in software projects
