Small Cells Planning Analyst

Reading/Remote - Very occasional travel to office and travel to sites to complete site surveys prior to build & installation (1-2 times per month, UK wide for 1-2 days at a time)

£445 per day (Inside IR35)

6-month contract

Digital Skills is excited to collaborate with a leading mobile network company in the UK in their search for an exceptional Small Cells Planning Analyst to join their dynamic team.

As a vital member of the Small Cells Planning team, you will play a crucial role in national small cells planning activities. This includes conducting network analysis to identify pre-rollout demand and evaluating post-rollout performance. Leveraging various planning software and tools, as well as analysing extensive network data sets, you will identify network capacity requirements and provide clear recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the small cells network. Additionally, you will contribute to site planning and design as part of the small cells acquisition and design (A&D) activities.

You will be responsible for the overall planning of small cells within the mobile network. By collaborating with key stakeholders, your role will ensure that small cells planning, design, delivery, and operation align seamlessly with the company's business objectives. As a Small Cells Planning Analyst, you will actively support site planning, capacity analysis, and performance evaluation to fulfil the objectives of the small cells planning team.

To excel in this role, the following experience and competencies are required:

  • A strong technical understanding of radio access networks and outdoor small cells, including their deployment models and performance fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in mobile network radio planning and expertise in various tools utilised in the planning process (eg, Atoll, MapInfo, Nokia, and Ericsson tools).
  • Familiarity with mobile network acquisition, design, and build processes, particularly concerning outdoor small cells, is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with complex and extensive data sets, mobile network parameters, and counters.
  • Ability and eagerness to learn and experiment with different software tools related to network planning and performance evaluation.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, effectively managing workload and tasks against fluid deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK for meetings and multi-skilled visits.
