Project Quality EngineerRole and Responsibility
Tasks
- To produce and maintain a project quality plan / to define the hardware, software and test quality criteria
- To work a long side all project members in the review of defects and the impact analysis with regards to project costs, time and quality.
- To contribute to review meetings, ensuring best practice is followed.
- To ensure full requirement traceability is followed - from Design to Verification to Validation
- To generate defect change requests and report non conformities and discrepancies
- Continuous improvement of current methods, processes and procedures to ensure best practise and industrial standards are followed.
- Review / audit current working practices within engineering department and to ensure department methodologies, processes and procedures are being adhered too
- Contribute towards the development of technical engineering programs, plans, and objectives in accordance with the Engineering processes
Experience
- BS / BA degree in Electronic Engineering plus 3 years relevant technical experience, or 10 years direct relevant technical experience without a degree
- First hand experience in Software, hardware development life cycle, from initial concept through to product release.
- Experience of formal process and procedures within the development lifecycle
Desirable
- Experience in using Confluence/Subversion/Jira
- Experience in working to ISO9001
- Experience in CMM/CMMI
Reporting
- To report engineering process non conformities
- To measure the quality of the software, hardware development and delivery through Key Performance Indicators and formal reports.
Departmental interfaces
- Interface with other engineering departments on technical and non technical aspects
- Interface with Senior Management, Project Directors, Departmental Managers and Engineering personnel with regards to software processes / procedures / non conformities and discrepanices
