Description
A Global Oil and Gas service company is looking for a Software Engineer to work on developing advanced optical fiber sensors for the oil and gas industry.The successful candidate will join a team of 10 people, working on a new project- alongside Mechanical Design, Electronic Engineers and Fiber Optic Engineers.
Will be carrying out a range of tasks including:
- Developing C++ software to be installed on an instrument running a Linux operating system
- Develop C# applications for interfacing and manipulating data from instruments
- Documenting algorithms and workflows associated with the software
Essential criteria - Ideally the successful candidate will have
- 5+ years experience of C++ and C# experience
- TCP/IP socket programming
- Multi-threading programming in C++ (pthreads) and .NET
Desirable criteria -
Experience using the following software packages / environments would be also be desirable, as they are routinely used in the facility.
- Matlab, Scilab or Octave
- SVN source control
- Redhat Linux
- Visual Studio 2010 or higher
- Eclipse IDE with CDT plugin
- Unit test frameworks such as googletest
- Work experience on software with signal processing applications and real-time applications
