Urgent role for a Solution Architect for one of my clients based in Edinburgh. Please be aware that this role is within IR35.
The solution architect is a key member of the team and responsible for the design and architecture. The position requires strong consulting skills with the ability to effectively command a room.
- Fluent with good industry practice across architectural design methodologies, patterns, product development, microservices and security models
- Will have at least 5 years experience working as a lead solution architect on complex enterprise grade platforms deploying into a scalable and secure microservice architecture
- Will have come from a development background and be familiar with the full project lifecycle
- Strong understanding on Microservice, UI and Data (NOSQL and RDBMS)
- Good understanding of Enterprise Platform setup catering to various streams of the Bank
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps IaC, CI/CD, TDD/BDD, Monitoring/Alerting/Logging, Operational support models, Resilience, Scaling and Continuous Planning
- Will have a good understanding of hybrid architectures utilizing cloud. Able to create designs that incorporate Legacy and new applications. Exposure to Kubernetes/Openshift/PCF
- Will be comfortable interacting with the senior stakeholders within and outside the business
- A critical thinker with the ability to collaborate within the team, define the application architecture, development direction and work packages whilst resolving the issues that emerge.
- Will be able to collaborative with other architects in the programme and broader bank.
- Able to articulate the key design components and constructively take criticism on areas of potential improvement.
- Will be able to work in a collaborative manner with developers across multiple sites and work streams
- Experienced with Agile and Waterfall delivery methods and related tools, ie JIRA and Confluence. Knowledge of SAFe agile is good to have.
