Contract for a leading Telco company. can be extended up to 9 months+.
Way of working:
Location - Newbury/Bracknell as directed by calendar/project demand. But mobility, and flexibility allowed/expected. Not must be in the office every day but expected to be 2-3 days per week and as required by meetings/project.
Activities:
Design of technology solutions to meet the needs of our customers, obtaining the optimum balance between compliance to requirements and delivery time/cost.
Design documentation creation and updates
Framing of the build and test phase of the project to ensure it accurately reflects design
Communicate to non-technical stakeholders on progress in the project (problem statements, risks, issues, solutions, next steps, mitigations)
Selection of 3rd party suppliers and partners, (technical requirements, compliance)
Solution architecture documentation updates
Expected Competencies
CISCO HCS design and implementation knowledge
Enterprise Voice Architectures: on premise and/or hosted solutions for enterprise customers (>1000 endpoints) including contact centre knowledge
Service provider BSS and OSS systems.
Deep understanding of at least three of the following technology areas:
o Mobile networks design: GSM, 3G, 4G
o VoIP Network design, capacity, sizing and performance
o Industry standard Voice and Video Applications and technologies (eg SIP, XMPP, webRTC)
o Terminals and endpoints design: IP phones and PC clients
o Data Centre hosting and network security
Designing with Security in mind
Designing with Operations in mind
Ability to develop technical designs and solutions (and associated project documentation)
Influencing skills
Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken). Fluent in English (spoken and written),
Successful delivery of complex communications projects in a service provider environment
Working in a virtual team environment
Working in a project gated process - gated by project technical design documentation artefacts
Teamwork - delivering as part of a team
Delivery of tasks to time and quality
Application of design principles in creating technical solutions
Describing and developing technology solutions according to an architectural framework (eg TOGAF)
