POSITION DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Provide technical assistance to the Reservoir Engineering division in managing the company's shale gas JV operations

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Create, update and maintain corporate reserve and economic databases, including well and production data
  • Give support to JV Managers/Banks/Auditors and their reserve and cash flow requirements and requests
  • Database administrator for historical reserve databases, including reserve reporting and cash flows and reserves reconciliation
  • Support engineering staff in Mumbai with database and ARIES support; provide training to staff as necessary
  • Retrieve, import and manage JV well exploration, well and production data in corporate reserve database
  • Coordinate with JV partners to update critical economic and production data, including LOE and taxes
  • Generate up to date cash flow reports, graphs and spreadsheets utilizing the reservoir well exploration and production data
  • Conduct research and preliminary analysis to support reservoir modeling and evaluation
  • Coordinate internal and external (i.e. with JV partners) engineering meetings, conferences, and teleconferences, as assigned
  • Gather, interpret, and prepare data for studies, reports, and recommendations using MS Access, Spotfire and ARIES
  • Create, manage and generate reserve reports as needed for industry reserve databases
  • Assist in generating, reviewing and tracking AFEs, production forecast summaries and budgets for the JV operations
  • Assist reservoir engineers in loading and creating databases for various engineering software
  • Identify, track and create databases as needed to monitor industry activity
  • Manage the transfer of databases and required information with outside auditors for reserve evaluations
  • Maintain and protect corporate and employee assets, including intellectual property
  • Assist in building working relationships and managing communication with the company's international technical team
  • Manage and update the corporate reserve database hierarchy for quarterly and year end reserve reporting
  • Provide support as required in building the reservoir engineering capabilities, including inherent systems and processes


Requirements
  • Experience in working with oil gas production and accounting systems (ARIES experience must)
  • Experience in year-end reserve reporting and management of data with outside auditors
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Maths/Physics or related field preferred, Petroleum Engineering optimal
  • 10+ years of oil/gas industry experience, some international travel likely
  • Working knowledge of reservoir analysis, economic evaluation and management tools, including production/exploitation databases
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Access) and industry databases
  • Previous reservoir engineering technician experience with shale gas a big plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent administrative and organization skills with ability to integrate data from different sources
  • Self-motivated, results oriented, can drive project to completion within tight deadlines
