Senior Storage/ Data Architect - Finance -Chicago

I am looking for a Senior storage engineer (vendor-agnostic) that has worked across multiple areas of IT - infrastructure, databases, and development. As a Storage engineer, you will be the link between the Linux server team and how they interface with the DBA's.

Responsibilities:

- optimizing file systems

- ensuring properly running of file systems

- improving and testing performance/ scalability

- building and installing monitoring tools (such as Nagios)

Your profile:

- BSc (must)

- A minimum of years working experience as a storage engineer (SAN, NAS, etc), not industry-specific, nor vendor-specific

- Strong Linux knowledge (Ubuntu, RedHat, Fedora, etc)

- Strong DB knowledge (Sybase, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Riak, MongoDB)

- Experience designing distributed filesystems (HDFS, Gluster, etc)

- Scripting in Perl, Python, Bash, and/or Shell

- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

On offer:

You will be the second Storage engineer/architect within the organization - working on an infrastructure team of 10 highly ambitious, skilled, and innovative individuals in a state of the art technical environment. Compensation:

Up to 150k on the base plus outstanding bonus potential (up to 30%)
