Stress Engineer required to perform analysis to demonstrate the structural and strength aspects associated with aircraft structures, equipment, systems, components and associated with the installation into aircraft of equipment, systems and components in accordance with the technical requirements and the Statement of Work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the below tasks.

  • To conform to the company procedures, processes and standards to meet the Technical Specification and to satisfy the Terms and Conditions of contract.
  • To provide Structural advice, analysis, test schedules based on:
    - Customer requirements.
    - Certification requirements.
    - Project timescales and budget.
    - Working with other team members as appropriate to ensure overall project delivery
  • To perform tasks as necessary to show that equipment, structures and components comply with the strength and structural requirements defined in the Technical Specification within the scope of the contract including:
  • Writing structures working files, stress reports, test schedules and reports.
  • Advice to the design office on structural concepts, materials and fasteners.
  • Support efficient running of Stress office including aiding with standard stressing methods and procedures.
  • To support the provision of timely, economic, design solutions.
  • Other duties to support company as and when mutually agreed.
  • Works with and encourages others, removing barriers to achieve a common goal.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:

  • Static stress analysis.
  • Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
  • Analysis of metallic and composite structures.
  • Generation of structural loads.
  • Weight estimation.
  • Use of hand stressing methods and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Competent working knowledge of structural and stress analysis specifically relating to the analysis of modifications/repairs in an aerospace environment.
  • Proficient in the use of analysis software.
  • Numerate and computer literate.
  • Familiar with MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of Mathcad preferable.
  • Basic knowledge of structural airworthiness requirements.
  • Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
