Description
Successful candidates can expect to be involved in a wide range of tasks including, depending on their expertise:- Design and analysis of ship or offshore structures including:
- Structural design calculations to Classification Society Rules
- Structural design calculations to Naval Design Standards
- Finite element analysis
- Design and analysis of lifting, turning and transport arrangements
Requirements
- Significant direct experience in design of marine & offshore structures
- Ability to work from first principles
- Knowledge of specialist offshore vessels and naval vessels would be advantageous
- Sound knowledge of appropriate design codes including:
- Classification Society Rules (Lloyd's Register, DNV, ABS)
- Naval Design Standards
- Proficiency with appropriate software including:
- STAAD Pro
- Ansys
- ProEngineer
- Mathcad
- AutoCAD
