The Assignment

One of our clients is a capital markets consultancy whose Murex practice is one of its fastest-growing divisions, having expanded rapidly over the past year. The practice is building out nine high-impact streams spanning Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Integration, Production & Architecture and Environment Management, and serves Tier 1 investment banks, hedge funds and global asset managers. The client is now strengthening its Production & Architecture capability with a Murex PAC Consultant. You will work as part of a collaborative ecosystem, alongside Quantitative and Front Office Pricing experts, rather than in a silo. The role is client-facing: you will gather requirements, design solutions and resolve production-critical issues, and you will be trusted as a thought partner and problem-solver. The client offers a clear career path, both vertically into leadership and horizontally into adjacent specialisms.

Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Murex PAC Consultant with deep MX.3 technical architecture expertise to own the platform and infrastructure side of Murex delivery. You will be:

Defining and validating the technical architecture for Murex environments, whether on-premise or cloud;

Performing hardware sizing based on client needs, expected load and Murex requirements;

Designing system engineering blueprints, including network layout, server communication and load balancers;

Solving technical platform issues, including low-level system and connectivity problems;

Debugging Murex binaries and troubleshooting system crashes and performance degradation;

Setting up and configuring resource monitoring tools covering CPU, RAM, disk and network I/O;

Optimising system performance, ensuring high availability, scalability and resilience;

Collaborating with CEM, DevOps and client IT teams on firewall, DMZ, Proxy and security setup;
