Position: Technical Writer
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: 6 months contract (possible hire after 6 months)
Job Summary
- As the Technical Writer, you will participate in soliciting and documenting functional and technical details, manuals and training material of new and current software and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Document solution details via use cases, user stories enriched with acceptance criteria, scenarios, functional requirements, UML models, process descriptions, and workflow analysis
- Produce high-quality documentation for various solutions, with a focus on the end-user audience
- Produce high-quality documentation for various solutions for use by support teams
- Understand/manage backlog of documentation.
- Works with stakeholder to ensure documentation is thorough and accurate
- Recommend standards/best practices for documentation
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology field, Marketing or Communications preferred
- At least 3 years of technical communication experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Experience working directly with software development and engineering teams
