Description

This is a new role to support the Team Leader of the Transaction Processing Team within the newly created Fund Accounting Administration (ABOR) Department. The team are responsible for managing the input and validation of all manual transactions into Quasar and FODB, across all instrument types including derivatives, private assets & leverage loans (including life cycle transactions), PPMA & PPMG trades, custody fees, bank interest & liquidity trades. The team are also responsible for the investigation of reconciliation breaks, resolution and providing exception management reporting. The role includes liaison with other members of ABOR, EY, M&G's custodians and the IBOR Team.

Key Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for the completion of the manual input of transactions into Quasar & FODB to maintain data for Accounting, Performance and Shareholder Disclosures. It also includes daily review of Cash Reconciliations to manage exceptions and key internal reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our data.

The role will include:

Reconciliation of all Exchange Trades products between ION and the Clearing Brokers (5 in total). To investigate and resolve any trade, position or cash breaks across the daily exception reports and clearing any exceptions within agreed deadlines.

  • Resolution of cash & stock reconciliation exceptions
  • Input of manual postings into internal systems, Quasar & FODB.
  • Cash Reconciliation investigation into breaks relating to trades, Collectives, Liquidity products, FX's & Derivatives. This will involve raising queries with custodian, EY & the IBOR Ops teams.
  • Ensure all exceptions are resolved within agreed KPI's
  • Working collaboratively within our teams and peers and promote team value

Process

  • The individual must ensure the reconciliations are completed in accordance with the teams controls, checklists and procedures including any SOX or audit requirements
  • Understanding and oversight of day to day client requirements
  • Support process enhancements, projects or 'change' delivery into the team
  • Day to day processing role (as needed)
  • Ensure accuracy of day to day processes - maintaining checklists & procedures within agreed control framework
  • Identify and communicate errors/issues as first escalation point within the team

Prior Settlements & OTC experience, specifically dealing with reconciliation breaks

  • Minimum of 5 years operational experience
  • Knowledge of different instruments, transactions and life cycle events
  • Prior experience of Quasar & FODB
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Understanding of accounting client requirements
  • An open/effective communication style.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure from both internal and external clients.
