Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a skilled Linux Application Developer for an Oil and Gas project opportunity in Stavanger.SKILLS :
Linux/UNIX skills - basic commands to navigate, copy, move, delete and edit files, set variables, monitor disk usage, process mgmt, understanding of NIS, use of thin clients, permissions, running installs.
Windows admin.- installation, configuration, registry editing, environment variable management, drive mapping, server access, remote desktop
License mgmt - FlexLM, HASP, Sentinel, etc; Installation of license managers, license updates and maintenance on license server; client license configurations. Geoscience knowledge is an asset; knowledge of the oil and gas industry - particularly offshore - is a definite must have skill
Ideally, experience with Petrel, GeoFrame.
Familiarity with ArcGIS, RMS would be good - a good to have/now
The ideal consultant will be available to work in Norway with travel to the UK - Aberdeen where the client will cover the travel and accommodation expense costs.
