Description
We are recruiting on behalf of one of the Leading Financial Institutions in the Sydney CBD. This is an initial 6 month contract which is highly likely to extend. Our client requires an experienced Unix Systems Engineer to join an existing team migrating from a Unix to Linux platform. The role will also involve developing a scalable Linux hosting solution.
About The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for end to end Linux architecture working mainly with Solaris and Red Hat. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly valued team within an environment open to new ideas and individual contribution. You will be working as part of a large Infrastructure team and be expected to maintain key working relationships with other teams in the IT Department. You will be a self starter and regarded as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) with regards to Red Hat & Solaris.
Key Skills Required
- Degree qualified
- Strong Red Hat administration skills
- Solid experience using Solaris (preferably 8-10)
- Strong project management skills
- Solid experience with Storage/SAN solutions for Linux environment
- Experienced in designing, testing and implementing patching and backups
- Experienced with Disaster Recovery
- Financial Services Experience - Highly Regarded
- Excellent communication skills - essential
